Castiglione del
Lago is located on a promontory which used to be the
fourth islands of the lake, but then, further to the
decrease of the water level, a new-born plain linked it to
the mainland. This plain, along the lake’s coasts rises
toward the hills that represents the physical border
between Umbria and Tuscany.
Cittą della
Pieve is a medieval village whose houses are mainly
made of bricks.
Tuoro sul
Trasimeno, is located exactly where the armies of Rome and
Hannibal met in the famous battles of Lake Trasimeno more
than two thousand years ago. |
